The “RTD4EDC” project aims at developing recommendations for EC RTD&D policy to increase the share of renewables in Emerging and Developing Countries (EDC’s) with European technologies. This will be based on policy assessments, stakeholders opinions and analyses of best practises.
The RTD4EDC project is financed under the 6th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development of the European Commission. |

Mrs. Mechtil Rothe
|

Mechtild Rothe was elected to the European Parliament 1984, ever since she has been a member of it. Within the Parliament, she belongs to the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. She is also a substitute member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Temporary Committee on Climate Change as well as a member of a number of Delegations. Since the beginning of 2007, Mechtild Rothe is Vice-President of the European Parliament. Moreover, she acts as the spokeswoman of the PSE group on a sustainable energy policy. Several times already, she has been the rapporteur for directives relating to renewable energy and energy efficiency. Since 2002, Mechtild Rothe has been the President of EUFORES (European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources).
